Common questions
What is Authify?
Authify is a platform for certifying physical objects and giving them a verifiable digital identity. It links an item, such as an artwork, a collectible or a product, to a digital certificate of authenticity and a data record that can be checked with a smartphone.
How does Authify check if an object is original?
The object carries a label with an NFC chip that has a unique serial number. During verification the phone reads the chip, fetches the certificate record and compares both numbers. A match means original, a mismatch means fake, and no record means the object has no certificate.
What is a digital identity for a physical object?
It is a structured record assigned to one physical object. It can hold photos, a description, the author, creation date, provenance, owner and history. The record is tied to the certificate of authenticity, so the data and the object always belong together.
Do I have to use NFC?
No. NFC is an optional link between the certificate and a physical identifier. It enables fast verification with a phone. You can use digitalization, certificates and the public gallery without NFC labels.
Does Authify use blockchain?
Yes, behind the scenes. Certificates and object metadata are recorded on a blockchain, so the record cannot be quietly changed. You don't need to know the technology or own a crypto wallet to use Authify.
How much does Authify cost?
Authify Collections costs 49 EUR per month for up to 10 objects, 199 EUR for up to 50 objects and 349 EUR for up to 100 objects. Annual billing includes a 40% discount. Every plan includes a certificate of authenticity, a public online gallery and the client panel. Larger rollouts are priced individually.
